Jimmy Baikovicius is an engineer and essayist. He builds the systems that shape judgment, and writes about who pays when a system decides first.

He trained in mechanical engineering in the United States and holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from McGill University. His work spans advanced automation and applied cryptography.

He leads Khimo, the engineering team that helped build Bang & Olufsen's smart home division and now develops control, media, and cloud systems for homes and commercial spaces, including Mirigi, a digital concierge platform for apartment buildings and hotels.

In 2008 he founded Privnote, a service for self-destructing messages that has since served millions of users.
