Greg’s off to Glastonbury this week, but Dan returned from extended vacation on the west coast of Ireland to record the show with Ethan. They are joined by JT, an R&S CCIE candidate with a strong security background. We did have a few audio drops on Skype this week, but that shouldn’t affect your enjoyment of this show too badly, we hope!
This week the Pushers discuss:
- Cisco announces the CCIE Emeritus program. 10 year vets get options other than taking that written test test again.
- Dan hits the highlights of the Cisco ASA firewall 8.3 code release — really more of a major than a minor release, so think we.
- We chinwag about how we backdoor our own networks so that we can perform secure support when we’re off-site. SSH tunneling, anyone?
- Ethan reads some bogon poetry, a sad tale of woe about how ARIN revoked a network and BGP AS he’s responsible for. Okay, there’s no poetry at all, but it’s still a sad tale. Bring a hanky.
Big thanks JT for joining us — you can follow him (and please do!) on Twitter @WannabeCCIE.
