Network management solutions provider Auvik has unveiled an array of features for its cloud-based IT management platform, offering advanced capabilities for SaaS automation and monitoring for network endpoint and expanded server performance.

The new toolset is designed to enable IT professionals with greater security and visibility as they manage complex network environments.

Auvik offers all of these capabilities in one unified platform focused on the needs of mid-market IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs). The Ontario, Canada-based company says its strategy is to distinguish itself by providing friction-free deployment and automation in a SaaS environment that allows users to manage and monitor from any location.

The new SaaS management features enable IT administrators to boost security and lessen software expenses. A key challenge here is to contain shadow IT tools and the associated โ€œSaaS sprawl,โ€ which can create security and cost concerns โ€“ a particular problem with AI applications.

โ€œSaaS sprawl has been a growing challenge for many enterprises. The challenge has been exacerbated with the onset of AI tools and add-ons,โ€ said Keith Townsend, chief technology advisor, The Futurum Group, noting that CIOs are taking every opportunity to control this process. Now with the new Auvik automated compliance and security features, a clear view of SaaS usage will help eliminate unauthorized software.

Auvikโ€™s new SaaS Automation and License Optimization tools comprise more than 20 pre-built integrations with major providers like Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoom. From the expansive menu of choices, admins can select the optimal third-party application for virtually any scenario, which again lessens shadow IT.

Another new release is Auvik Endpoint Monitoring, which extends network visibility across hybrid and remote IT environments to the endpoint. This brings vital improvements in how IT admins and support staff manage users of macOS and Windows machines. The product bolsters performance of legacy remote monitoring and management platforms while enabling remote teams to actively monitor device connectivity status.

This level of visibility helps IT support teams handle connectivity issues with cloud-based applications as well as troubleshoot user problems with WiFi speeds and network throughput and latency.

In response to customer requests, Auvik has bolstered the Server Management features in its Network Management platform, which affords teams visibility into Windows servers. In addition to sending alerts, the Auvik platform now lets them to view a complete inventory of the servers on a single pane. This is significant in the light of a recent survey that revealed that 74% IT professionals had to use a separate application for server monitoring, which reduces efficiency and security.

“Auvikโ€™s latest innovations in SaaS automation, endpoint network visibility, and server monitoring give IT teams and MSPs the enterprise-grade capabilities they needโ€”without the complexity,” said Doug Murray, CEO, Auvik. “With deeper insights, automation, and cost-saving optimizations, our customers can proactively manage their IT environment from a single platform, reducing inefficiencies and enhancing security. These advancements are designed to simplify IT operations, empower hybrid workforces, and help businesses maximize the value of their technology investments.”

Auvik, founded in 2011, operates a platform that helps manage three million SaaS applications across 100,000 networks, serving one million devices. The company is supported by venture capital, and has raised $250 million in a round of funding in 2021.
