This week’s largest IT financing announcements show where infrastructure spending is concentrating: optical connectivity, alternative AI compute, cloud capacity, autonomous security, and enterprise workflow automation. The common thread is practical pressure on systems that enterprises must operate at scale, not simply another round of model development.
The deals below are ranked by disclosed financing size. They also point to a market that is rewarding the layers around AI, from the physical links between servers to the controls needed when software agents begin acting inside business systems.
Lumilens
Round: Series C | Sector: Networking
Lumilens emerged from stealth with more than $700 million in new funding on Aug. 6, bringing total capital raised above $900 million. The company is already shipping optical connectivity products into AI data centers, which gives this round a direct operating rationale: faster links and lower power use are becoming central constraints as clusters expand.
Olix
Round: Series B | Sector: Semiconductors
Olix closed a $312 million Series B on Aug. 3 at a $3.3 billion valuation, in a round led by Fundomo with Arm and Hudson River Trading among the participants. Its photonic inference architecture is aimed at the memory and bandwidth limits surrounding conventional AI accelerators, making the company one of the clearest bets this week on a different semiconductor path rather than a larger version of the existing one.
Volta
Round: Seed and Series A financing | Sector: Cloud
Volta raised $300 million across seed and Series A financing on Aug. 4 at a $2.4 billion valuation, with Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital co-leading and Nvidia and Michael Dell participating. The company is pairing equity with a large customer-financing structure and a planned Norway data center, an approach that makes access to AI capacity as much a capital-markets problem as a cloud-operations problem.
Horizon3
Round: Series E | Sector: Cybersecurity
Horizon3 raised $250 million on Aug. 3 in a Series E co-led by NightDragon and New Enterprise Associates, lifting its valuation above $2 billion. The company plans to expand its autonomous security-validation platform internationally and add defensive agents that help remediate findings, a useful test of whether offensive automation can become a repeatable enterprise control rather than a periodic assessment.
Zenity
Round: Series C | Sector: Cybersecurity
Zenity raised $125 million in a Series C on Aug. 3, led by Norwest, with Qumra Capital, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Hitachi Ventures, and LG Technology Ventures joining existing backers. Its platform is built to secure and govern AI agents inside enterprise systems, and the mix of financial and strategic investors suggests agent oversight is moving toward a defined security and compliance budget.
